Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. French, German English fluently. The father of her mother was an actor as well as her mother was a violinist. The award was presented to her as an award for the Best Female Actor Award in 2000 at the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors. The year 2008 saw her honoured"an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. A performer from Romanian descendance, Anamaria Marinca made her debut on the screen through the Canadian-British TV drama Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. Alongside her impressive performance in her debut film The actress will be remembered for her part of her role in the Romanian movie "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" that won her numerous awards including an award from the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. She starred in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 luni 3 saptamani e 2 zile" (4 3 Weeks, 4 Months And Two Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also earned two other awards, it was awarded the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) and the Cinema Prize. In addition, she appeared in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC five-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca is a regular on her own Romanian drama Boogie along with Oliver Hirschbiegels Five Minutes of Heaven. She later had a prominent part in the film Fury where she portrayed an German woman who was named Irma Aunt of Emma.
